Halfway point for the experimental phase of the LIFE-REthinkWASTE project in Varese. Through a KAYT (Know-as-you-throw) approach including customised telematic messages, gamification, eco-coaches and shopping vouchers, citizens are nudged to improve their separate collection of waste.
On July 21st, the city of Varese will host an all-day event dedicated to the environment to celebrate the results achieved thanks to the “Riciclo&Vinco!” campaign launched within the LIFE-REthinkWASTE project, that focuses on experimenting with the KAYT (“Know-as-you-throw”) approach in the Bustecche and San Carlo districts.
DAY&NIGHT, two moments of the day dedicated to two different audiences.
DAY – It will be dedicated to the dissemination of the project results at local, national and European level.
- At 10 a.m. a press conference for local media will take place in the Salone Estense of the Municipality of Varese.
- At 11 a.m. the Municipality of Varese, Regione Lombardia and several partners of the REthinkWASTE project (IFEL- Fondazione ANCI, Ars Ambiente, Etra S.p.A., and the other three pilot areas: the Municipalities of Bassano del Grappa, Bitetto and Sant Just Desvern) will speak about the project results and perspectives in a live webinar.
NIGHT – An evening to celebrate the commitment of the citizens who have joined the project and earned the highest number of eco-points by interacting with the messages about separate waste collection received via Telegram, WhatsApp or SMS.
At 8.00 p.m., at the YAK theatre, the first 25 winners will be awarded each by a € 100 voucher, to be spent in some shops of the two neighbourhoods + a free admission to the screening of the film “Trashed” that will follow.
